Anytime an animal is netted, there is a possibility of a very valuable, priceless animal being traumatized, seriously injured or killed during the process. Many zoo, aquarium, and exotic animals are susceptible to these problems for numerous reasons (i.e. temperament, speed, agility, strength, agility, frailty, etc). We know that it is necessary sometimes to capture these animals (so you can vaccinate, or treat an illness).
Net-Em™ products are the right equipment to do the job quickly - to reduce stress - and to minimize the chance of injury to the animal or the handler.
Versa-Nets™
Our Versa-Nets™ systems are designed to be safe, light, strong and versatile - hence our name, Versa-Nets™.
We have adopted a modular style net system to allow you, our customer, to design the net system you need for your application.
Every Versa-Nets™ system is built to give
you long lasting wear (within the limits we explain with each modular
part).
We have differing lengths of handles as well as locking extension handles of
differing lengths. All net handles come standard with a long rubber
grip. All net handles of greater than 29" come with an additional foam
grip in the center for added stability and maneuverability. End grips can be changed for a small fee (See
below).
We offer a very wide selection to choose from, but we can customize to your specifications.
We have four suspension styles to choose from. We offer all suspensions
in all size circumferences. There is no difference in price for the
different shaped suspensions of the same size and thickness
polycarbonate.
We use strong and flexible Lexan polycarbonate plastic rod to create our
suspensions. We offer these suspensions in a variety of thickness to match
your application. Our net suspensions are made of Lexan
polycarbonate which has 16000 psi tensile strength and 19000 psi flexural
strength.
A note about the polycarbonate. We use Lexan polycarbonate. It is extremely light weight and reduces the possibility of
injury to the specimen or cause cage glass breakage. However, the
polycarbonate when exposed to organic solvents or harsh chemicals can crystallize
and become brittle. Exposure to these chemicals and the long exposures to UV rays of direct
sunlight will cause failure. Heat, if above 275F-350F degrees, can cause
the suspensions to bend. We suggest that care and attention be given to these
parts so failure does not occur during use.
