The 3/8 Rod was designed to allow you to capture small, delicate animals but ones that may be strong or larger than the 1/4" selection allows for. These include birds, smaller primates, reptiles, etc. These animals are also susceptible to injury. We encourage you to also put foam around the suspension to further minimize impact injuries. If you pair this net with either the A mesh, B mesh or F mesh, you are creating a very light net that will minimize any damage you can do while you handle these type of animals. Keep in mind the small digits and appendages when selecting your mesh choice.
The 28C is roughly 8x9. Suspensions are different so refer to the table on the Versa Net book marked page. This net is good for use up to 5lb or less than 2.5Kg. It is not as flexible as the 1/4" rod but it still is very flexible.
If your animal is strong, you may want to consider using the 1/2" rod instead. Because of the flexibility of polycarbonate, it may become too flexible if you overburden the suspension. Doing this will cause the net to become unmanagable. It is best to go to the next size up if you feel this could become an issue as the animal grows larger or stronger.
